LSB Business Lending Reception

The launch of the Standards of Lending Practice for business customers in March 2017 increased the level of protection to businesses with turnover of up to £6.5m turnover. As we promised at launch our work has not stopped there. Since then we’ve brought asset finance and commercial mortgages into scope and our recent work to extend the application of the business Standards up to the £25m turnover threshold is another milestone for the LSB. We are very proud of the work we’ve undertaken and the commitment we’ve seen from our registered firms, and the wider industry, to ensure business customers receive fair outcomes across their lending journey.
Two years on feels like an appropriate time to reflect on what’s been achieved, brief you on our current work and share our plans for the future. You will also have the opportunity to hear from our guest speakers discussing the role of self regulation, the protections provided to customers and the importance of consistency to SME’s.
